EATALY is a famous marketplace chain, with restaurants inside !

My sister & I met again for lunch (this is becoming a series for us 😅). We were in the mood for Italian food, and since we were at the BHV we thought to ourselves, let’s go to Eataly since it’s close-by. I am not a fan of these food chain places, but they do serve occasionally good things, also I happen to know that they have a fair wine selection here.

We started off with two Prosecco extra dry ! It was delicious, so that was a very good choice for us.

Had to get the stracciatella 🤤 you know how much I love that cheese (it’s the inside of a burrata, which is the best part). They served that with contorni, that’s Italian for side. I totally forgot which one we picked, but it was made with bell peppers, capers & tomatoes : to die for.

Then we ordered what they call a “Torino” pizza, namely after the city of Turin, in Italy. It’s made with a thick dough / base. We were smashed by it, because the crust reminded us of the Serbian burek… which was yummy.

And that’s where we stopped ! They were generous in portions, our bellies couldn’t take more than that. All in all, it was a pretty pleasant experience. The prices are higher than most Italian restaurants, and it doesn’t feel like anything special. Also, the service at the end was a bit of a shame, they gave us our pizzas to go, but without bags to carry… we then asked for it and they said we needed to pay 22 cent for each bag 😂 never heard of paying for a bag in a restaurant.

At this point, we really felt like it was so cheap of them. It’s like it’s the chain corporation talking to us, so it ruined our moment. We didn’t even go afterwards to the marketplace, we were so over it.

Rating for this large food hall chain thing, or whatever you want to call it is 4/10 🙃
