My best friend surprised me with a quick visit to Paris !
The day before I left for my summer vacay to Crete island. We had an amazing day walking around the city, which is absolutely gorgeous at that time of the year. I always miss her so much, so when we see each other, it’s a moment !
We are both food lovers, so for this one-day meeting we had three restaurant stops !
The first stop was at the Bistrot Le Louis IX, because Berthillon was closed and we really wanted some Berthillon ice creams… what most people don’t know is that on the Île Saint Louis, most little bistrot and brasserie have their ice creams, because it’s THE iconic thing of the island.
And if you didn’t know this yet, well Paris has two little islands in the city center : the Île Saint Louis, and Île de la Cité (where you can find the Cathedral of Notre Dame).

Then of course, we had to get coffees at the famous Les Deux Magots, in the most gorgeous area of Paris, in Saint Germain des Prés. The outside terrace was open, and we really enjoyed our time there, as some musicians were playing and they made this snack break quite agreeable.
This restaurant is very famous for hosting intellectuals such as Jean Paul Sartre, Hemingway, and even Picasso… I’ll let you read all about it online ! It’s a place you shouldn’t miss if you ever visit.

We finished the evening at my favorite Italian restaurant : Pizzeria Popolare !
I had promised her I would take her there someday, and so the time finally came. We devoured their margherita pizza, with some amazing Bellini cocktails (it’s made of peach purée and Prosecco, and it’s to die for). I spent my birthday in this place, they also make a delicious Tiramisu cake. Don’t miss out !

Some final pictures of the incredible Church of Saint Eustache. Paris has many beautiful churches, not including the Cathedral of Notre Dame. And since that one is closed for renovations after the terrible fire, if you like gothic architecture, and just visiting churches in general for the mystical feeling, you should definitely put Saint Eustache on your list. Especially because they will host organ concerts from time to time.
