I have already shared this place with you guys, but never reviewed it for my “Food” category (click to see all related posts). So here we go !
I actually celebrated my 32nd birthday there last year… my boyfriend made me discover this place the first time around, and we then became usuals. Whenever I craved some good Italian food, this was the place I wanted to be.
Not only is their food made from scratch every day, even the pasta is freshly made in the morning and not store-bought, but their Neapolitan-style pizzas are completely decadent. NB : You gotta eat them fast so they remain hot ! That’s the best way to have it.
The atmosphere is fun, even though your waiter might be quite arrogant (happened a bunch of times unfortunately !)… it’s also freaking loud, you gotta yell sometimes so that the person you’re with can hear you, but that’s apparently very Italian 😂 you’re surrounded by like a million bottles of alcohol : so definitely indulge ! Their wine selection is good, but do a bit of tasting until you find the right pairing with your food, don’t hesitate to ask, otherwise they’ll give you the basic ones.
Oh and they have a nice cocktails selection too ! Get down, to the floor below and discover their kinda hidden bar. Have a seat right there, and look at the bartenders mix dozen of cocktails in front of you, and get yourself a nice glass of Bellini, or anything else, but please don’t go for the boring Aperol Spritz.
I ordered this time around the most amazing truffle pasta, I almost wanted to lick the mascarpone off the pot. It was topped with actual black truffles, which is life ! But I do have to warn you, that they don’t always do that : sometimes they use white truffles, and claim it’s more expensive than black, so they’ll use less of it in it, and won’t top your plate… even if it costs the same, which is 20 euros lol. They don’t bother either if you tell them that you’re unhappy that your truffle pasta tastes more cream, than truffly. And that you know that especially because it ain’t your first time : they don’t really care about usuals coming again.
I got the strongest red wine they had, tasted four glasses before I said “yes, that’s the one”. It worked like magic with my plate. Not thanks to them though, I had to insist to get the good wine !
My sister got a big-ass regina pizza, and devoured it ! She added stracciatella to it. If you don’t know what it is, I am sad for you, but do me a favor and go ahead and taste that awesomeness. It’s what you find inside a burrata, it’s so creamy, you’ll lust over it afterwards. Then we finished with their famous tiramisu, which is so well balanced and sweet, which is why we come back for it.
Rating for this is 4.5/10
Even though I love the food at this place, I can’t give it a better grade because there’s a couple issues. They’re not generous, the prices are high, the waiters are sometimes nice but mostly talk back, and have bad manners. The service is really slow. They don’t take customer’s in account. It feels a bit like you’re in a factory… I mean for the way you’re treated. It’s like 50/50. It can happen that there is a nice waiter !
We used to have a better experience going there because we knew one of the managers, but since she left, it’s like the waiters have become worst. I went back with my cousin who visited me from Germany, and they treated us awfully. She was so shocked, because you can’t behave like that in Germany or you’ll get fired. But the waiter just said “This is France” omg. Which left a horrible taste in our mouths, and we wouldn’t take no dessert or coffee, we just left in a hurry, feeling distraught.
Of course, this was the last straw. They did shitty things before, but the way they behaved that last time, was exactly that : last time.
