My experience as a Business Class passenger
I haven’t been back to Serbia for almost two years, and so I decided to take a one-month vacation to visit my family. When I was booking my plane ticket of course I decided to go with Swiss Airlines, just because I get a layover in Zurich to see my best friend.
Even though it’s only for a couple of hours, we at least can meet up in person and chat, and it feels really good when you’re living apart like we are. It’s just not easy to get some time together, so we take whatever we can get. We are planning though on a “best friends trip” soon, I can’t wait for that !
I went for the Business Class ticket since I had a lot of luggages, and I didn’t want to be at the airport 2 hours prior… the economy lines for check-in and security are such a waste of time, and my flight was 6:30 am. No thanks.
I had an amazing experience and I don’t think I’m going to fly economy again. On short-haul flights you can’t even request any particular food, they give you the snacks they have planned. But I’m gluten free intolerant, so I was used to bring my own snacks or starve the whole flight.
In Business they bring you whatever fits your diet, and not only that but you get access to the lounges, which have buffets with delicious food and drinks you can order tailored to your needs – and it’s all included with your ticket. No extra fees, not a care in the world basically.
Priority boarding and get off the aircraft, as well as getting your luggages right away is extra. Also the fact that while I was at the airport I had showers available, and high speed internet wherever I went was the best feeling. I definitively think that it’s worth the price, it’s profitable and I don’t know why the heck I hadn’t done this before. From now on, I know better.
We went to the Silicon Valley…
I’ve wanted for a while to visit Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, and my dream came true !
First stop – at the Apple Store nearby, nicknamed “Visitor Center” where you can find cool goodies that you wouldn’t be able to get at any other store. Fun fact, they don’t have a Genius Bar… which makes sense, because it’s mostly a pit stop for tourists.
What’s nice is that they have a cafeteria. I loved the design of the building, it’s incredibly beautiful and aesthetic. They have a map of Apple Park inside, that you can visualize via iPads in augmented reality, which is fun.
Second stop for me is beyond limit for tourists – without going into details, I was lucky enough to experience the breathtaking circular spaceship that is Apple Park. It is absolutely bananas inside !
I can’t tell or share anything about it, except for my feelings which were basically : “OMGosh”, “Is this real life ?!”, “I can’t believe where I am right now !”, “Can somebody pinch me because I’m having a stroke”, “I NEVER WANT TO LEAVE !” pretty much… It was the highlight of my trip.
“When in doubt, book that ticket and go”
En route for Las Vegas !
I have a love-hate relationship with this city. I mean it’s an odd place, everything seems grandiose and completely unbelievable because we’re in the middle of the desert… the air is dry, and the heat is crushing.
But at the same time, you’ve got all that luxury before your eyes. They say it’s America’s favorite playground, and I do have to agree on that. The sentence “anything is possible” makes sense there, whatever you’re searching for, you might find it. It’s not like L.A. where people come with their dreams, here it’s all about having a good time without considering consequences.
Which is why I do not like the general ambience there. I just find it fascinating, it’s like a trip down the rabbit hole, where you get to see all the curiosities hidden from wonderland.
“When you put love out in the world, it travels”
Back to my Californian hometown… Redondo Beach !
I consider the South Bay area to be the best in Los Angeles, not only because of the amazing beaches, but also the chill vibes and beautiful houses.
When I first arrived in L.A. in 2012 (oh boy, that’s a long time ago !) I had no clue this place would be so pretty. I totally fell in love, and it obviously broke my heart when I moved to Paris. Time away has become an eternity…
I had been waiting for too long to be reunited with my best friend Noah again; I don’t know which one of us is crazier – probably me, but I do know we complete each other’s silliness. & I missed that, so much.
We spent such a great afternoon together, my sister was there as well. We chatted, and laughed and I just felt like myself again. It was like, I hadn’t been myself since I had gone. This trip completely restored me.
