This is just terrible guys !

I DROPPED MY LEICA !! — *My sorry-ass face when I realized my Leica’s screen was dead…*

So, it happened… I got reckless, a short moment of inattention is all it took, and my camera plunged LCD screen first to the ground. I managed to catch it before it exploded entirely, but the screen was gone ! MISERY *crying face emoji*

I took it to the Leica store, and they told me I had to wait two months until I could get it back fixed… 2 FREAKING MONTHS ?! “are you kidding me” I asked there, but that was it. They scrambled urgent on my file in hope that would accelerate the process…

I was feeling so distraught about what they had told me, that it made me realize I couldn’t go through those two months without my main aka only work tool. I have a convention I’m attending this weekend & I’m covering it for Geekland magazine; how am I supposed to shoot portraits of cosplayers without a camera ? Using my iPhone… please. Let’s be real.

I went to a photography store, and spent an hour (at least) looking through their cameras, and trying some, until I decided : let’s get it, my first DSLR. I bought a Nikon D3300, which is an entry-level cam, for beginners, people who know almost nothing about reflex cameras. That means me ! I was told it’s a really good one, easy to use and after reading reviews online, I made up my mind about it.

I encountered many little issues at first, but I figured the camera’s technicalities and now I’m more than happy with my purchase 🙂 I’m gonna need to get a couple more lenses later, so I can shoot portraits & landscapes better, but for now it’s all good.

What tv show are you binge watching right now ?
I binge watched Stranger Things last Friday night, loved the show 🙂

Who is your favorite YouTuber ?
iJustine because she’s into tech stuff, her cooking videos are hilarious & I like how she edits her vlogs.

What bands are you currently listening to ?
Metronomy, Tame Impala and Chromatics. The Less I Know the Better, Miami Logic and Night Drive on a loop.

How would you describe your personality ?
I’m a little hyperactive maybe, definitively crazy. I like having fun and messing around, joking with people. I’m friendly, but I have a hard time being serious; if you get me there I can discuss of anything because I have a curious mind. I’m also very clumsy, and probably the type of geek cliché you’d see on The Big Bang Theory. When I work I’m focused and bossy.

What words do you say a lot ?
That’s embarrassing to admit 😛 basically, literally, actually, definitively, really… I need help.

What’s your diet ?
I follow the Paleo autoimmune diet because I have an intolerance for gluten and casein. Eating Paleo is adjusted to my needs, health-wise.

What do you like to drink ?
Hot chocolate with soy or coconut milk as a treat, and any green juice containing kale (especially if there’s some ginger in it, it’s so good).

What do you typically have for breakfast ?
Banana & scrambled eggs or cereals or bread with spread and my morning vitamins. Pancakes or french toast on weekends, sometimes pie or a piece of cake.

What brands are your sunglasses ?
My favorite pair of sunnies are from Prada, they’re black oversized labelled “baroque”.

Whats your least favourite word ?
“No.”

There’s progress

As you can tell on those pics, I am looking extremely moody… the reason is that even though I have made a lot of personal progress regarding the way I blog, and trying to post every project I have in mind each week, I am still struggling over my schedule.

The schedule I made weeks ago is pretty easy to manage, except if I am traveling. Oddly enough, I did not take account of that, which is a total fail from my part because I completely overlooked the fact that I go on trips almost every week.

Mistakes have been made… but they are already being corrected. I am changing my habits a little bit, since I came to the conclusion that scheduling posts is the best plan. From now on, most of the things you will see, will have been scheduled a week or two ago.

I enjoy blogging “live” and I will continue to do so, but because of how busy and tired I get when I’m traveling, I am not able to post five days a week like it is my wish. I want to share my adventures, and the things I work on all weekdays.

There’s many stuff I leave out when I don’t do so. It’s really important for me to fix that, and go forward by learning from my mistakes. I believe it will also be more enjoyable for you, to see more organized content from me.

I want to thank you for your patience, for staying loyal followers despite the big break The Blog underwent last year, and my experimental blogging methods over the last months.

I admit I got bored with the idea of blogging, but couldn’t bring myself to give it up, and with other things happening in my life, it became a mess. It’s better now though, and let’s cross our fingers that it continues to improve in the future !

An evening to remember 🙂

Here’s a couple Snapchat stills I took at my sister’s birthday party… everything was perfect that evening ! From my outfit, to my makeup and hair on point. I had so much fun, it was one of the most enjoyable time spent with my family. I wore a dress from Guess, shoes from Forever 21, ring from Nordstrom and nailpolish by Yves Saint Laurent.
