I go back & worth with that question in mind – assuming your boyfriend likes your hair a certain way, or color, should you actually keep it that way only to please him ? Even though, it might not be a true reflection of who you are, or want to be.
I feel like for women, anything that has to do with our looks is so important to us, because that’s how we express ourselves. The patriarchal society tends to repress women’s freedom, voice and of course their appearance.
Most men will not understand how it is an every day challenge for a woman to let herself be. They’ve been raised in an unfair world that benefits them, so they think even how a woman keeps their hair or dresses up, is a due to them.
The reality that needs to be spoken out, is that it’s not. Women have let themselves be submissive over the generations, mostly out of a survival instinct. Which is totally comprehensible… we are also the nurturing souls, and if we cannot please a man enough, then how are we supposed to birth families.
But we are not slaves to their needs. We have to listen to what we want, because they don’t. If you like yourself the way you are, then stop listening to whoever is trying to change you to benefit them. You’re going to end up like a broken doll that doesn’t even recognize who they are anymore.
Your mom did not give you life, so that you would sacrifice it to an underserving man. You are not the victim to women’s past. You will rise for yourself, and for us, and we will put an end in time to men suffocating us. Be proud to be a woman, and act strongly by choosing what suits you.
HOTEL PARTICULIER MONTMARTRE – Victoria is posing for me this evening; we tried to get into the Chinese New Year’s vibe with the reds, but my photography ended up looking quite experimental (or “artsy” as she said). I actually like these unexpected results more, it gives a special feeling to our photoshoot.
I started working for Apple a couple months back and met this incredible person there; she's super nice and generous, has this good aura about her and I really wanted to take some pictures using this old film-style editing. She's also an actress & very independant, which is why I admire her so much !
Hello 🙂 I’ve been absent again from the blogging scene… I like having a blog and being able to post what I want, but only when I feel like it. Blogging for me has always been an on & off thing, and that’s why I disappear from here for a while sometimes.
I realize I can’t achieve anything by treating my online platforms this way, but it’s not like I’ve ever actually wanted to make something serious out of it. All of this stuff are a hobby for me.
I went to Romania and Hungary while I was on this month-long blogging break, I visited the city of Timisoara and Budapest and shot plenty pictures. I spent an excellent time in Romania and had a wonderful couple days in Hungary (thanks to my friend mostly, who took this picture of me).
I’m in the mood to share some of these adventures with you, they’re too great to keep to myself… check back another day to see my updates, or sign up by email to be notified when something new is up.
One of my friends visited me in Serbia recently and shot this picture of me from the back, because I did not want to turn around 😀 I kind of regret it now, not wanting to participate in an impromptu photoshoot because he’s a great photographer – picture by Bogdan Korosi.
Last year, pretty much at this time I was in Los Angeles, and I hung out a lot with my best friend from EF Redondo Beach school. We also went to visit San Diego together, and he even tried to teach me how to take pictures of the stars at night… but it ended up being a total fail, and I honestly don’t remember any of his good advices now; still, we had fun 😀 I was thinking about our adventures, laughing to myself today, and wanted to share a couple shots he took of me & some I took of him… you know.
Today I want to share the work of a friend of mine, who is a great photographer; his name is Carlos, and he makes really stunning pictures and has already exhibited & given photography related classes. He’s very involved and committed to his projects, and just created a Patreon online for support.
As you all must know, being an independent photographer is not easy, especially for funding everything you need to realize your ideas, from gear to softwares, there’s a lot that needs to be accounted for before / during & after a picture is made. But let’s all agree that in the end, it’s worth the time and efforts, particularly if you’re a talented photographer like Carlos Ramirez ― it would be a waste if he wasn’t able to explore some projects, and accomplish awesome pieces due to a lack of means.
That’s why making this Patreon is a meaningful way towards completing some of his work. If you ever thought about supporting an independent photographer, and help funding his creations, then you should absolutely check out his pictures because either way, they’re worth seeing. I’ve personally always enjoyed his photographs, and I think you would too. So, take a look down below ! I’m sharing my favorites, and don’t forget that you can find out more about this on his page :
