I want to have an “eat, pray, love” moment where I drop off the face of the planet, and move to Greece

I want to have an "eat, pray, love" moment where I drop off the face of the planet, and move to Greece

Found these photos from last year, while I was searching to edit the ones from this year…

Seems like I missed a couple of good ones 😆 I mean my camera roll is a freaking mess, so of course I’d be missing or forgetting some pics here and there : better late than never, right ? Here I am enjoying myself in Rethymno, which is my favorite city in Crete ! There’s just so much to see there, day time and night time included, it’s the best place to be 🤗

Outstanding food, awesome shops, lots of like interesting, fancy and cute spots all around town, including rooftops, cultural & artistic areas, amazing long Californian-like beaches, and so much life !

It takes a lifetime to discover Greece, but it only takes a moment to fall in love there

It takes a lifetime to discover Greece, but it only takes a moment to fall in love there

We’re here visiting a fortress in ruins in the city of Sitia 😊

Very picturesque town, not much for beaches though, but the sightseeings are unlike any other place in Crete we’d seen so far. We were exploring with great curiosity, and had a really nice moment there… but we left early, because the sun was crazy hot and we needed to get a swim !

It’s quite far east, and I’m not sure it’s worth going all the way there : time & gas wise. I’d say, turn back south west after Mochlos, which is definitely the prettiest fisherman village of the coast.

Chemin de Nietzsche

Chemin de Nietzsche

My boyfriend loves Nietzsche, so I surprised him with this hike !

I knew there was this beautiful path that the philosopher used to take to get to the medieval town of Èze. It’s definitely more for experienced hikers, and not for someone like me suffering from rheumatoid arthritis 😅. But I also read online that there were many spots along the way where you could sit and rest : and that’s absolutely true ! Without it, I wouldn’t have managed to get up there. It’s an hour hike, it took me over two hours… as you can imagine, I sat whenever I could.

It was a real challenge for the both of us, for him it was a special connection to the writer, and for me it was completely physical. Being quite recently diagnosed with two auto-immune diseases has been difficult for me, but I know I can’t achieve anything if I let that be the best of me. So I push myself, and I’m always happy when I reach my goals, like this one ❤️.

I’m here for the views and sparkling rosé !

I’m here for the views and sparkling rosé !

How gorgeous is the South of France ? It’s as dreamy as you may picture it from the books, and the movies…

I fell really in love with this area, I want to move there from Paris. This is just perfectly peaceful for my soul. I always said that the only things I need in life, are a sunny weather, by the water, and a practical urban environment. That’s my end goal. I definitely had all that when I lived in L.A., thus why Paris even though it’s beautiful, gives me seasonal blues and what not. Which I definitely hate, because I’m a bubbly person who thrives under the sun !

Nothing says “holiday escape” more than a golden French Riviera tan, and a vibrant cocktail !

Nothing says "holiday escape" more than a golden French Riviera tan, and a vibrant cocktail !

I have separated my Cannes pictures in three posts, that you’ll all see this week ! Other cities coming right up next…

I have loved staying here, it’s such a cute little city, there’s so much buzz because of the different conventions happening, and of course the Festival each year. So it’s quite exciting to be there ! It definitely boosted my energy levels. I mean this is one of the sunniest cities in France, and you can basically swim from May to the end of September, without a second thought, and if you’re brave even after that… I swam in October, and for me the water was perfect. It was as I said “invigorating” : I’ve really been into colder water since listening to what Wim Hof has to say about it. Beautiful times !
