Ah, lovely Heraklion ! We love you so 🤍

It’s the capital of the island, and it’s a must do ! You gotta stay at least a night, because the nightlife is definitely the best here since there’s so much going on with tourism & such. Also, they have the most amazing restaurants… I’d suggest Apiri : take the plate of seafood pasta, trust me. And Peskesi, which are some of my absolute fave places to eat. Don’t go for dinner before 9:30pm or so, people eat late there, it’ll feel empty if you go too early, and who likes an empty restaurant ? Not us !

It’s also the best city for visiting museums, and marvelling at the Cretan architecture. So much archeological sites to see. For hotel, I’d suggest to sleep right in the city center, so you can go by foot everywhere you need. I love the Metropole Urban hotel because it’s close to my favorite eateries, and it’s built on lively square.

On summer nights, I’d be sitting on the balcony drinking ouzo and watching the sea roar

Pit stop in the mountains of Crete ! 🐴

We found this beautiful ranch with horses, in the middle of nowhere, and decided to try it out for a night for the experience. It was really awesome, the Odysseia Stables are tucked away from the sea, but they have a nice infinity pool to make up for it.

The ranch was super quiet, and peaceful. We kinda had a special connection with the island there, as we went for a hike, did some yoga and checked on the different animals. It was very different from everything else we’d done before, it’s a definite to-do !

I want to have an “eat, pray, love” moment where I drop off the face of the planet, and move to Greece

I want to have an "eat, pray, love" moment where I drop off the face of the planet, and move to Greece

Found these photos from last year, while I was searching to edit the ones from this year…

Seems like I missed a couple of good ones 😆 I mean my camera roll is a freaking mess, so of course I’d be missing or forgetting some pics here and there : better late than never, right ? Here I am enjoying myself in Rethymno, which is my favorite city in Crete ! There’s just so much to see there, day time and night time included, it’s the best place to be 🤗

Outstanding food, awesome shops, lots of like interesting, fancy and cute spots all around town, including rooftops, cultural & artistic areas, amazing long Californian-like beaches, and so much life !

It takes a lifetime to discover Greece, but it only takes a moment to fall in love there

It takes a lifetime to discover Greece, but it only takes a moment to fall in love there

We’re here visiting a fortress in ruins in the city of Sitia 😊

Very picturesque town, not much for beaches though, but the sightseeings are unlike any other place in Crete we’d seen so far. We were exploring with great curiosity, and had a really nice moment there… but we left early, because the sun was crazy hot and we needed to get a swim !

It’s quite far east, and I’m not sure it’s worth going all the way there : time & gas wise. I’d say, turn back south west after Mochlos, which is definitely the prettiest fisherman village of the coast.

My favorite thing is to travel anywhere in Crete, I’m in love with that island.

My favorite thing is to travel anywhere in Crete, I'm in love with that island.

Visiting the gorgeous city of Ierapetra ! ☀️ a stunning, quiet, village.

My jaw dropped. It’s the most southern city on the island of Crete, and you can even spot the unhabited Chrissi island, which is close to the Libyan sea and Egypt. We wanted to go there, but in the middle of August is the worst time. The boat drops you off there for the day, there are barely any trees to take cover from the sun, and it’s basically African sun !

But Ierapetra was stunning, the people were extra nice… the nicest of the whole island. Food was exquisite ! I loved it there.
