But I can’t really travel, so most I got is my Parisian outings, and my archives : which I will be pulling out photos from when I don’t have a better, and recent update to post on here. Although, I am saving up for a professional camera so I can start doing some creative photoshoots at home. And also to better my current photography skills for landscapes & cityscapes, urban & nature, etc… so hopefully soon 🤞 fingers crossed !
This series of portraits was taken before she said yes 🪽 I deliberately chose to do in it in black and white, because I didn’t want any color to be distracting from the raw emotions she was showing. Since she’s so discreet, the black and white just drives the focus more intensely. I think she came out beautifully, and it was such a perfect moment to be sharing with her, to help her get ready, and knowing she made her wedding dress herself was honestly spectacular.
It is wild to be a millennial and hit your thirties, and then people like your best friend suddenly become an “adult” overnight basically, and get hitched ! Like I’m sorry, I kinda missed the memo on that one… I’m not aware we’re out of teenage-hood yet, but hard reality slap 😂😭 thanks for that !
No seriously, I am beyond proud and happy for her. This photoshoot was so special, because we escaped the wedding festivities, so she could take a breather, and walk in this beautiful countryside that’s surrounding the place. In the moment she was a fairy to me, wearing this mini dress that she made herself, and I just had this Lykke Li – I Follow Rivers song playing in the back of my mind, watching her basically flying off her feet from happiness, and I just started snapping a few shots to really immortalize this beautiful moment.
I think I caught her just like she always was, and forever will be, a true wild forest spirit 🩷
This time around, I walked a bit further into the city part and explored to see all the different type of houses there are, and focus on the medieval architecture. It was so sunny and hot, but still manageable for pictures. I don’t usually like when the sun is this direct, because the colors are too harsh when you shoot, but it ended up not being that bad post-editing.
The town is really lovely, unfortunately I didn’t make it to the castle. It was too far for my condition. I had to pace myself a couple of times to be able to do this outing without hurting myself too much in the process. That’s just how it is now, and I’m trying to adjust my life around it. But hey, I still get to go out sometimes and enjoy my hobbies !
Wow ! I have been looking for the last 2023 photos to share on my blog 😅
I went through my camera roll, and this week’s all that is left… I don’t have any *new* content for next week basically. Thankfully, I do have a couple trips that I never edited, or shared, so I guess you’ll be getting that until I’m able to plan photoshoots : which was part of my 2024 goal.
I want to be more thoughtful with my photography projects, and come up with ideas instead of just going out and shooting whatever. I don’t know how well I can manage that, because it’ll be my first time attempting to be like, professional. I’m laughing at myself, because these past two years have been so crazy with my autoimmune diseases, and instead of being you know, more careful, I’m just going for it. Being sick has definitely made me more fierce.
