Love her, but leave her wild

Quai Branly museumLove her, but leave her wild

I went to the Quai Branly museum with my best friend 🙂 She came from Switzerland, and we hung out for an afternoon in my hometown… which is Paris. Unfortunately, her trip was short so we couldn’t see each other for more than that, but it was fun anyway and highly enjoyable. We were lucky to get one of those rare sunny days in the midst of fall, the city was beautiful !

EPIC VLOG FAIL

I tried…

I was so motivated at start, there was even good weather conditions; a bright and sunny day in Paris is unusual at this time of the year. On this Halloween, I kept failing but I brought you something anyway, check it out, you’ve been warned.

Wanderlust in Paris

Can I get a hell yeah ?!

Wanderlust in Paris It’s been a while guys… I’ve just been living my life out here ! I wasn’t stressing about blogging because it’s a hobby, and I do always update when I can, but hopefully none of you is mad at me for that. I’m still pretty active on other social media platforms, such as my : Twitter, Snapchat & Instagram.

Anyway, I got some good news about my Leica camera (if you’ve been following my adventures since this post, then you know what I’m talking about). They got it last week I guess… don’t really remember the details, all I care for is that I’m gonna get it back sooner than expected ! So pumped, can’t wait for my baby.

SO GLAD I DID THIS !

AutoportraitureSO GLAD I DID THIS !

Buying the Nikon D3300 was the best decision I recently made, I am so happy with this camera ! I’m excited to go outside and test it out, but so far no such luck… it has been pouring rain in Paris, not the ideal weather for photography. Soon though ! It’s like we say in french “après la pluie, le beau temps” because after rain, is expected good weather.

The minor issues I encountered in the beginning were no big deal really, it’s just that I didn’t know how to attach the universal adapter to the battery charger, then the charger’s light was blinking which I thought was maybe a problem, but actually wasn’t. Lastly, I had no idea how to mount a lens… I know how it sounds, but I’ve worked with a Bridge so far, I didn’t have to care about lenses.

This camera is so easy to use though, that even if I can’t go outside take any pictures yet, I am already shooting self-portraits. I’m really enjoying this DSLR, it’s such a good tool 😀 ps. my hair is almost always messy because I don’t brush it, sorry about that 😛

I DROPPED MY LEICA !!

This is just terrible guys !

I DROPPED MY LEICA !!
My sorry-ass face when I realized my Leica’s screen was dead…

So, it happened… I got reckless, a short moment of inattention is all it took, and my camera plunged LCD screen first to the ground. I managed to catch it before it exploded entirely, but the screen was gone ! MISERY *crying face emoji*

I took it to the Leica store, and they told me I had to wait two months until I could get it back fixed… 2 FREAKING MONTHS ?! “are you kidding me” I asked there, but that was it. They scrambled urgent on my file in hope that would accelerate the process…

I was feeling so distraught about what they had told me, that it made me realize I couldn’t go through those two months without my main aka only work tool. I have a convention I’m attending this weekend & I’m covering it for Geekland magazine; how am I supposed to shoot portraits of cosplayers without a camera ? Using my iPhone… please. Let’s be real.

I went to a photography store, and spent an hour (at least) looking through their cameras, and trying some, until I decided : let’s get it, my first DSLR. I bought a Nikon D3300, which is an entry-level cam, for beginners, people who know almost nothing about reflex cameras. That means me ! I was told it’s a really good one, easy to use and after reading reviews online, I made up my mind about it.

I encountered many little issues at first, but I figured the camera’s technicalities and now I’m more than happy with my purchase 🙂 I’m gonna need to get a couple more lenses later, so I can shoot portraits & landscapes better, but for now it’s all good.
