The world needs who you were made to be

Food is my religion

The world needs who you were made to be
I have honestly asked myself a couple times if I should become a food blogger because of how obsessed with food I am… can’t stop talking about it, can’t stop taking pictures of my meals and sharing them;

Which is such a strange behavior if I think about it, but it’s so satisfying on a personal level, I can’t even explain it. So here we go again…

I went to Pouchkine for macarons and an iced cream coffee, so tasty. Another day to Noglu for a gluten free breakfast, which was nice – but my favorite bakery remains Chambelland, they make by far the most delicious sweets, pies & pastries. Also had a beautiful dinner at Miznon, an Israeli restaurant with my boyfriend.

Your worth is not measured by your productivity

I can’t stop eating, the food in Paris is freaking delicious

Your worth is not measured by your productivity
I didn’t have the best of days… I got a pretty severe anxiety attack at work this afternoon. Which was totally random, and I didn’t really know what was causing it, but the more I think about it & I realize it’s because of all the unnecessary pressure I am putting on my shoulders – I meditated to get me through it.

I love that I have people that believe in me, because at some point I stopped believing in myself, and that makes me sad… unfortunely some have what may seem like high expectations. I’m just trying my best, and I can’t be who I’m not. I know what makes me happy, and what doesn’t, and I don’t want to force myself to go against my spirits. Because that’s actually how you destroy yourself, and I’m in a healing process.

All I know is, I am getting back on my feet. You can’t imagine the feeling of sensing my being been born again. I just hope I will make some proud… sometimes I feel like you’re kinda the only ones who care about my journey, on this blog or whatever – and I need to thank you for that.

Art in the city

The mandatory pit stop
Art in the city

Zurich is a very artsy city, it’s agreeable to walk and see awesome graffitis on the walls and enter cool museums exhibiting modern artworks. It’s also become a gluten-free friendly place where you can find restaurants making delicious dishes, such as the amazing burger I got at B.GOOD.

Where to eat the best pizza in Los Angeles

Rock & BrewsThe best pizza in Los Angeles

Located on PCH, right across the EF school (which is where I used to attend my classes & study). Rock & Brews was founded with the collaboration of two KISS members. They serve american comfort food, play good music and the decor is very cool. They also offer gluten free options, which is great for me !

Their pizza is literally my favorite in L.A., you must try it if you ever visit Redondo Beach. They have other locations in California of course, but I can only talk for this joint. I had me some garlic cheese fries & a “Margheritaville” pizza with shrimps. SO YUM !

My Personal Journey to Wellness

Getting healthier & fit !

I am currently sick… I feel like shit. Let’s be clear on that, I’m in a horrible situation right now; of course I’m exaggerating but, I do not handle well any type of pain so being sick is the ultimate worst for me. I am not dealing okay at all.

I am someone who’s kind of obsessed with wellness, and staying healthy and all that jazz. When I moved to California a couple of years ago, I was really glad about it because I discovered that I was far from being the only psycho-addicted to wellness in town. Living in Los Angeles on and off, taught me that “health” is super important & definitively seen on another level there, compared to other places I’ve been to.

Which is great. I pay a lot of attention to what and how I eat, my daily exercise routine and what supplements I take, etc… so when I get sick, even if it’s nothing too serious, I am still extremely upset about it. Believe it or not it’s a very harsh process to go through for me, as I’m not used to it at all. For me getting sick is so rare, that when I do, it’s an “end of the world” type of scenario in my life.

Obviously, I’ll also have an intense reaction to it. I’ll usually seek a cure by changing my diet almost completely for a few days. It happens because I feel guilty, as if it’s my fault I got sick. I start questioning my every move, what possibly I could have done to bring this to myself ? Generally the answer is nothing, or I’ll blame it on things that are actually harmless to my health.

Over time though, I have come to the conclusion that you can’t stop disease. If by any bad luck you catch a virus, it’s unfortunate but it happens, and even being as healthy as possible cannot stop infections. It can only better your overall well being, and probably help get back on your feet sooner.

I also think that sometimes the body needs to reset. This can be the way it chooses to say that it’s time for a break in the habits, and to begin a detox program. It’s essential to listen to your body, as it will only be gratifying to do so. I am going with a gluten free vegan raw diet for the next couple of days, until I am in shape again. This always helps me greatly, I am confident and look forward to it. Eating clean & raw has many benefits.

PS. Also wanted to say that it absolutely slipped my mind, but I noticed that I forgot to post something last Friday… no worry though, it was just an error in the schedule. I recently set up the “scheduling” option for my blog posts, but evidently it looks like I made a tiny mistake when I was checking my calendar & doing that. It won’t be a problem for next week, I’ve looked again and that’s fine. I guess I need to learn to double-check, to avoid these type of things.

where to eat gluten free & vegan food in Belgrade

W Sushi
Sushis are always a great idea because they’re made of rice, algae and fish or vegetables which are all gluten free. It’s the easiest lunch or dinner stop for me.

Cold Pressok
My newest discovery, and the best one yet. Not only do they have cold pressed juices, but also foods like my all-time fave : kale chips. Everything is 100% vegan & gluten free.

Elixir Juice Bar
As the name indicates, they make real healthy juices but also fruit salads and other type of yummy things, like vegan bites.
FRIEND, NOT BACON

Ice Box
It’s an ice cream shop that has vegan & gluten free ice creams : try the dark chocolate, it’s my favorite 🙂

Idea Super
It’s a supermarket that sells some vegan & gluten free options. There’s two different types of Idea though, search for the “Super” tag name next to it because it’s not always available in the other ones.

Apropo
Is a bookstore but also tea place, which has cats running around… so cute ! I love going there, great tea selection, and very chill.
