this isn’t really a review ’cause i’m mega lazy right now but… it is ๐ spoiler alerts following
there are two ongoing series i absolutely love reading and never miss an issue from, Harley Quinn (2013 – ) & Green Lantern : New Guardians (2011 – ) both DC Comics. i did write previously a quick review for GL NG issue #25 All Tomorrow’s Party click here to read it
and now i’m gonna tell you a little about this specially released issue on Harley going to San Diego Comic Con this year ๐
the idea is real fun and i agree with what Mark Doyle (Batman group editor) wrote, that this convention is like madness and that miss Quinzel is such a crazy character, that it’s perfect they made her attend this in the comics. fresh idea, part of the new 52 yaaasssss ๐
so what’s happening is that she has this portfolio filled with pages of illustrations she drew, and she came to SDCC to show them to a couple comic companies hoping that maybe they’ll publish her. except of course, she’s mayhem, constantly thrown off the con with her badge confiscated ๐ but that doesn’t stop her from trying to get inside without it and to cause more trouble ! at some point she believes the Joker is waiting for her in room 7AB but realizes it’s all a bunch of cosplayers ๐
then later she meets a group of gals dressed just as her, wearing outfits from all different DC Comics versions of Harleen, and i freaking loved it ! seeing the real Harley Quinn around those wannabes of her, asking for chaos and damn… she gave it to them ๐ so much that they ended up in jail after getting a cop shot in the ass, but that wasn’t even the craziest moment ๐ฎ whaaat
for me the best, most insane was when she actually stole a vintage Batmobile (from the Batman TV series) and headed straight to crush an editorial dinner for DC staffers & met without realizing Geoff Johns suited up in an armor, who tricked her into leaving the place. there was a lot of cool folks involved, such as Jim Lee who reviewed her portfolio and Bruce Timm & Paul Dini (who are her creators) signed her autographs, also Stephen Amell the actor playing the Arrow and much more ๐
she does some “shopping” on the last day & searches specifically for an old Batman Adventures issue, the #12 from 1993 which is supposed to be her first notable appearance in a comic book, because Timm & Dini created the character originally for Batman : The Animated Series, a year before in 1992. but the seller gives her such an outrageous price that she goes for stealing as much comics as she can and leaves running !
7,5/10 GOOD overall grade for it ๐ a really enjoyable story, with a lot of action and many events. plus the fact that it’s happening at SDCC and we get appearances from people like Bob Harras (editor in chief at DC Comics), makes it awesome !
ps. guys, i’m super sorry about the low quality of the pictures lately on my blog, am still blogging from my iPhone using the uber uneasy wordpress app ’cause my stupid macbook broke a couple days ago…. ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ how unfair is the universe seriously ! #geekworstnightmare
thus why you’re overloaded with all kinds of emojis ๐ i has an addictive problem with those; most of the pics in this post are screen shots and yes, yes ! i read a lot of my comics digitally, and i shall talk about digital versus printed issues in another article SOON, so stay tuned if ya wanna find out
